HR Generalist | Manistee, MI

Salary Range: $54,000 - $81,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Manistee that are seeking skilled HR Generalists. Key Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle recruitment for manufacturing roles, including skilled trades and production operators.
• Administer HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with labor laws and safety regulations (e.g., OSHA).
• Provide guidance and support on employee relations issues, including conflict resolution and disciplinary actions.
• Coordinate and facilitate new hire onboarding, emphasizing safety training and company culture specific to the manufacturing environment.
• Oversee performance management processes, including annual reviews and performance improvement plans.
• Manage workers' compensation claims, incident reporting, and promote a strong safety culture across the plant.
• Process payroll changes, administer benefits programs, and manage various leave requests.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proven experience as an HR Generalist within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Solid understanding of labor laws and HR best practices, particularly those relevant to manufacturing operations (e.g., OSHA, shift work regulations).
• Demonstrated experience in full-cycle recruitment for production and skilled trades roles.
• Proficiency in employee relations, including conflict resolution and performance management.
• Familiarity with HRIS systems and timekeeping/payroll processes common in manufacturing settings.

Bonus Qualifications

• Familiarity with OSHA regulations and manufacturing safety protocols.
• Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish) to support a diverse workforce.
• Experience with time and attendance systems common in manufacturing environments (e.g., Kronos, ADP Time).
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies.
